New collection of innovative community-based approaches to promote infant feeding

A message from the Infant & Young Child Nutrition Project

August 7, 2009

Dear colleagues,

Together with our partners, PATH, CARE, The Manoff Group, and University Research Co., LLC, the Infant & Young Child Nutrition (IYCN) Project is pleased to launch a collection of innovative community-based approaches to promote breastfeeding and complementary feeding practices, now available on the IYCN website.

We have started gathering experiences, lessons learned, and results from nutrition partners who are implementing successful community-based strategies–an important part of a comprehensive program to improve infant and young child feeding and nutrition.

With your help, we hope to gather many more examples to add to the collection. Help us celebrate the benefits of good infant feeding practices during World Breastfeeding Week by sharing a successful community-based approach or tool with us.

Please visit the IYCN website to learn about the successful community-based approaches and tools that various organizations are implementing to promote infant feeding and nutrition and submit your own organization’s example for consideration
