Summary: This report describes results from the nutrition section of a baseline survey conducted with beneficiaries of the US Agency for International Development’s Urban Gardens Program (UGP) in May 2011. The nutrition portion of the survey aimed to find a proxy way to evaluate the impact of the UGP on nutrition. The survey focused on dietary diversity, garden produce consumption practices, hygiene and food handling, sources of information on nutrition, and attitudes about the garden and its effect on household nutrition practices.
